Our Cottage is a charming, three storey, grade II listed former millers cottage, located in the historic Derbyshire village of Milford, a world heritage site and local conservation area. The cottage has been lovingly restored to retain much of its original character, including stone fireplaces, wooden brace and latch doors and exposed beams. It has 2 bedrooms,a small kitchen, downstairs bathroom, living room and cellar and enjoys a quite elevated position with stunning views over looking the Derwent Valley.Outside there is a terrace area and steps lead down to a pretty garden. This cottage is suitable for older children only due to the number of stairs.Milford is a great location for activity's such as walking and cycling and provides the perfect base for visiting some of the peak districts greatest attractions including Chatsworth House, Keddleston Hall and Dovedale. There is a village store, church, children's play area and several local pubs and restaurants. The nearby mill town of Belper has a selection of supermarkets, shops, Cinema and sports center.
We are a family of two adults and 14 year old twins (boy and girl), plus our 2 very well behaved dogs. Our cottage in Milford is our second/holiday home but as the children are starting to get bored with going to Derbyshire every school holiday we are looking to exchange to add some variety to our holidays and keep our children happy!
