A 3-bed semi in a quiet cul-de-sac, set up for a small family and space for a car. 10 mins walk from maniline train on the London-Portsmouth line, into Waterloo (45 mins). Ideal for exploring Surrey and Hampshire, and also London day trips.
The property is a 1930's house with large fitted kitchen with dishwasher, double oven, pantry, and all conveniences. A large lounge with patio doors opening onto small patio area. The medium sized lawned garden is raised, up a few steps (keep a close eye on crawling babies!) and is made private by lovely trees. It may not be large but it's perfect for children to play in, or to enjoy a meal outside.
The house is centrally heated and double glazed, and the lounge has a gas coal-affect fireplace which makes it very cosy.
There is a small downstairs bathroom with bath and shower-over-bath. There is also a seperate cloakroom and toilet just inside the front door.
Upstairs there is a double bedroom with LCD flat-screen TV and freview, one child's single bedroom with a single bed (toys, books, games, etc) and a spare room (our computer room) which has a single guest bed in it, or we can store this elsewhere if you are bringing a travel cot for a young baby, to give you more space.
Farncombe itself has a beautiful park, playground, fishing lake, golf course, soft play centre, a number of pubs, and a Co-op, post office and several takeaway outlets. It also has a boat house for narrowboat trips or watching the boats go by.
Just a few minutes in the car takes you to the historic town of Godalming - lovely eateries, unique shops, supermarkets, cafes and plenty of amenities - all in a very pretty town with regular markets and local events, especially in the summer.
A five minute train ride takes you to Guildford - a fantastic array of entertainment can be found here, including the Yvonne Arnaud theatre, 5-screen Odeon cinema, Guilfest music festival and other arts events throughout the year. Guildford also has a lido open in summer, and also the Spectrum leisure centre with bowling, skating, soft play, leisure pool with flumes, waves and slides - a brilliant place for kids to let off steam.
Only slightly further afield you can find attractions such as Birdworld, Alice Holt Forest Park (great for cycling), Hogs Back Brewery, Chessington World of Adventure, Bocketts Farm, Legoland at Windsor and Frensham Ponds.
You will be spoiled for choice of picturesque country pubs with a riverside setting, day trips to tempt young children, beautiful 'leafy' Surrey countryside for walking or cycling in.
Our family consists of myself, a part time church office admin assistant, my husband - a shipping co-ordinator and guitar music enthusiast, and my son, age 3, well-behaved but energetic! We like cosy fires in winter, barbecues in summer, playing outside, cooking, watching films, farmers markets and seaside visits.
