Former quarrymans cottage (built 1850's) in the foothills of the Snowdonian mountains. Our cottage has direct access out onto ffridd and walks in mountains. Magnificant views down through valley to Menai Straights and Anglesey, including Penrhyn Castle. Location is quiet hamlet of 15 or so houses above the village of Bethesda, which has pubs, shops, etc., but its a good 3-4 miles away down a big hill. Caernarfon is 20 mins away, Llanberis 20 mins, Bangor 10 mins, easy access onto Anglesey also. Amazing beaches, mountains, woodland, all nearby!
The cottage has two large-ish double bedrooms upstairs (1 kingsize bed and another kingsize mattress on the floor of a second bedroom we have setup as a nursery, we use the mattress as a spare bed when we have visitors). We've also a smaller bedroom (with a double futon) downstairs, as well as a lounge, kitchen and bathroom. So the house could sleep upto 6 people, but it would be a squeeze if your all adults! The lounge and kitchen are relatively large, but the cottage is small, you can probably see this from the photos. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over it and the kitchen has all the usual appliances. An open fire heats the house (it has back-boiler which heats water for solid fuel central heating). As I said, it is small but its perfectly located for a quiet relaxing holiday. The back of the cottage has a patio area which has a gate out onto the ffridd - which is a large open-access area that goes on for miles that has woodland, streams and some heathland - great for kids to explore or to going dog walking.
Children are very welcome, but we have steep stairs that dont yet have child gates, just if you have toddlers/young children.
Pets are also welcome :o) We have a silly collie spaniel cross called Flo, but she'll come with us.
