We live in a comfortable 1930s semi-detached 4 bedroom family house in a quiet lane on the edge of the village of Bradninch in rural Devon. Downstairs we have a large kitchen-diner, a sitting room, playroom and toilet. Upstairs 2 double bedrooms, a twin and a single, a bathroom, shower room with toilet and another separate toilet.
The kitchen-diner looks out to our secluded front garden with well-visited bird feeders. The sitting room has an open fire, TV with Freeview, DVD player, a good stereo and patio doors leading to the back garden. Our boys are 4 & 1 so the playroom is well equiped with toys, DVDs and books for younger children. Three of the bedrooms look over the back garden to stunning uninterrupted views of the Devon countryside.
The back garden has a patio and sizeable lawn and backs onto the fields with horses and sheep. We have a wooden swing and a large shed full of garden toys. We have a fruit and vegetable garden so there may be pickings!
Bradninch is a small, friendly village with a good Spar/Post Office, a very good playground and 2 pubs selling basic pub food all approx 15 mins walk from the house. It is 9 miles (20 mins) from Exeter - a lovely cathedral town with good pubs and restaurants. It's approx 40 mins drive to the south coast beaches, about an hour or so to the north Devon coast. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside and lovely small villages with country pubs and plenty of places to enjoy a Devon Cream Tea. There are lots of great places to visit for both adults and children nearby.
Photos show the front and back of the house, our snowy garden from the master bedroom, the views from the bottom of the garden and part of the sitting room. We'll add photos of the inside of the house ASAP.
