Downstairs there is also a toilet with washhandbasin and shower. Upstairs are 2 main bedrooms with double beds and a smaller bedroom with a single bed that converts to a comfortable king size, together with the main bathroom with bath, power shower over, washbasin and toilet. Outside at the front there is room for 2 cars to park and the back garden is 90ft long, including a large patio with table and 6 chairs and a lawn area. We are on the outskirts of a quiet estate, next to a golf course and ancient woodland, leading to lovely old Hertfordshire countryside. There is good country walking to be had within a few minutes walk from the house.
St Albans is an attractive ancient city with a large abbey and medieval and Georgian streets in the town centre. It is sited at the Roman city of Verulamium and the remnants can be seen near the abbey. A nearby museum has many Roman aretfacts. St Albans is a busy and thriving community, with a large street market twice weekly and a good range of high street shops. There are many restaurants, cafes and pubs and a large leisure centre. Verulamium Park and lake is popular for strolling and handy nearby is the Waffle House at Redbournbury Mill.
St Albans is surrounded by attractive countryside and interesting places to visit, such as Hatfield House, Welwyn Garden City (built by the garden city pioneer, Ebeneeezer Howard) and Knebworth House, but is also only 20 minutes by train from St Pancas and so is an ideal base for exploring London.
