ISLE OF CANNA, SMALL ISLES, MALLAIG
A chance to holiday on the tiny Inner Hebridean island of Canna - no shops, no mobile phone coverage, 4 ferries per week and only 19 permanent residents! White sand beach only 400 yards from house. Perfect for a relaxing holiday the island offers great opportunities for wildlife spotting, cycling, walking and exploring the islands rich history. There is a great cafe/restaurant on the island serving local seafood and game.
The house we live in is a recently renovated bungalow with 2 bedrooms available (1 double with en-suite shower room and 1 twin). There is an additional family bathroom with bath and shower, spacious lounge and kitchen/dining room. Central heating throughout and an open fire in lounge. Spectacular views across Canna and the neighbouring island of Rum. Large flat garden with trampoline.
Please note - the island is owned by the National Trust for Scotland and they do not permit visitors to bring cars to the island - however with only a couple of miles of track you don't really need one. Your own car can be safely left in Mallaig (ferry departure point), and we can arrange for a fellow resident to collect you luggage from Canna pier (1 mile from the house). Electricity on the island is provided by a diesel generator, and in order to reduce the island's carbon footprint it is switched off between midnight and 6am.
